Complete Installation & Configuration Guide
Network Configuration

Set Static IP Address
- Open Settings → Network & Internet → Ethernet
- Click your network connection
- Click Edit under IP settings
- Change from Automatic to Manual
- Enter your static IP, subnet mask, and gateway

Set Network to Private
- In Settings → Network & Internet → Ethernet
- Click your connection name
- Set Network profile to Private
Software Installation

Install VLC Media Player
- Download VLC 64-bit version from videolan.org
- Run installer with administrator privileges
- Complete installation with default settings

Add OpenSSH Server Feature
- Open Settings → System → Optional Features
- Click View Features
- Search for OpenSSH Server
- Check the box and click Install
SSH Service Configuration

Configure OpenSSH Auto-Start
- Press Win + R, type services.msc
- Find OpenSSH SSH Server
- Right-click → Properties
- Set Startup type to Automatic
- Click Start if not running

Configure Windows Firewall
- Open Windows Defender Firewall
- Click Allow an app or feature
- Find OpenSSH SSH Server
- Check both Private and Public boxes
User Account Security

Set Account Password
⚠️ Critical: The Windows account running VLC MUST have a password set for OpenSSH to function.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Del → Change a password
- Or go to Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options
- Set a strong password
- Optional: Enable auto-login while keeping password set
Important Configuration Notes

Media Directory Setup
- Current image directory: C:\Images
- Used for all media types
- Directory path can be changed in application code
- Ensure VLC user account has read/write access to this folder

VLC Media Player is now configured with SSH access and network connectivity
